World's End started as a farm in 1777, on the boundary between the parishes of Enfield and Edmonton, which is where the name comes from: it was the label people hung on a remote spot or a plot out on a parish edge. Enfield's local board bought the site in 1889 and built an isolation hospital on it.

No. That one is the estate off the King's Road in SW10. This World's End is in the London Borough of Enfield, beside Grange Park, at the opposite end of London.
