Away from the station the housing is suburban. Its postcodes, such as KT4 8FT on Sherbrooke Way, are Sutton's, in Worcester Park North ward. That ward rents more than the south: 21.4% of its 3,208 households rented privately in 2021.

Permit hours near Central Road: 10am to noon
Sutton runs two small parking zones off Central Road, both controlled on weekdays from 10am to 12 noon since 13 September 2021. The council's parking checker puts Longfellow Road, part of Green Lane and the even numbers 134 to 182 on Central Road in zone WP1, the Longfellow Road area. Zone WP2, the Moreton Road area, has Balmoral Road, Windsor Road and the odd numbers 1 to 103 on Central Road. A visit that starts after midday, or at the weekend, misses those two hours; for a weekday morning on one of those roads, tell us whether you have a visitor permit. On other streets, go by the signs.
