Oven cleaning in Wood Green from £77 with London Oven Cleaners. You inspect the lit oven before we leave, and any corner that is not right is cleaned again there and then.

In 1852 the Finsbury Freehold Land Society bought 92 acres of Wood Green Farm and divided the land west of the High Road into 480 building plots. Finsbury Road and Commerce Road, on that estate, became Wood Green's first shopping streets in the 1860s, and by 1884 Finsbury Road had more than 30 shops.

Wood Green's streets west of the High Road

The bigger houses came early. Detached and paired villas went up on Stuart Crescent, Ewart Grove and Pellatt Grove in the 1850s and 1860s, and the Trinity Gardens conservation area, designated in 1978, now covers them along with the Civic Centre on the High Road. A little further west, Barratt and Co., the sweet makers who took over a piano factory on Mayes Road in 1880, built red-brick terraces for their workers on Barratt Avenue and Park Avenue in about 1894 to 1896. Most of the streets round Wood Green Common were laid out in less than twenty years, from 1896 to 1913. East of the High Road the grid of the Noel Park estate, begun in 1883, has a page of its own.

Many houses in the area have since been divided. Woodside ward (2022 boundaries) takes in Wood Green station, the Civic Centre and Barratt Avenue, and of its 6,187 households at the 2021 Census, 26.9% lived in part of a converted or shared house and 39.3% in a purpose-built block of flats; 19.4% had a terraced house. A flat cut out of a Victorian house usually has a small kitchen with a built-in single under the worktop or a slim freestanding cooker, and a staircase between that kitchen and the street.

The stairs only add walking time. Racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. Meanwhile the cavity, the fan cover and the inside of the door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen. The door is split where its design allows, and dust sheets go down first.

Renting near Wood Green station

Private renting is the biggest tenure in Woodside ward: 42.5% of households rented privately in 2021, while 30.0% owned their home and 26.0% rented from the council or a housing association. At the end of each tenancy the inventory clerk opens the oven door, and a greasy oven can cost part of a deposit.

Letting agents can have the invoice made out to the agency and ask for photos for the checkout file, and keys for an empty flat can be picked up by arrangement. The guide to end of tenancy oven cleaning goes through deposits in more detail.

Three parking zones around Wood Green station

Three of Haringey's controlled parking zones meet within a short walk of the station. On the council's zone map, the streets around the station, The Mall and most of Mayes Road are in the Wood Green Inner zone, controlled from 8am to 10pm on every day of the week. Stuart Crescent, Pellatt Grove, the southern end of Trinity Road and Barratt Avenue are in the Outer zone, controlled Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6.30pm, which leaves Sunday free. Commerce Road and Finsbury Road, north of the Civic Centre, are in Bounds Green East, where control runs only from 11am to 1pm on weekdays.

The council lists the hours for every zone. Zone edges do not always follow street names, so check the sign at the end of your road and give us the street when you book; the team needs a space close by.

Wood Green oven cleaning questions

Can you come on a Sunday?

Yes, at the weekday price. The Inner zone round the station is still controlled on Sundays, from 8am to 10pm, but the Outer zone's hours end on Saturday evening, so streets such as Stuart Crescent are free of zone controls on a Sunday.

I rent a flat in a converted house. Can the invoice go to my letting agent?

Yes. It can be addressed to the agency, and photos for the checkout file are taken if you ask.

My flat is a basement with steps down from the street. Is that a problem?

No. Mention the steps when you call so the visit is planned for them.

What do I need to do before you arrive?

Turn the oven off in good time so it is cool when we get there, and keep a working socket free. The guide to preparing for your oven clean lists the rest.

What customers tell us

Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.

PaulW5

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.

HelenSW4

I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
