The Village and the town are two different jobs. Up the hill, on the roads between the Ridgway and Southside Common, it is often an AGA or a range in a big period house; down at the Broadway and into SW20 towards Raynes Park, more often a single integrated oven in a converted flat.
The Village end
Wimbledon Village keeps some of the borough's grandest kitchens, and grand kitchens tend to mean serious cast-iron cooking. On streets like Calonne Road, Marryat Road and Parkside, backing onto the Common, an AGA or a range is common, and those are the appliances people worry most about handing to a stranger. We split the door where the design allows, lift the enamel parts into the tank, and degrease the cast iron by hand with nothing corrosive. The Broadway and Raynes Park
The town grew up around the station after 1838, and much of it now is Victorian houses subdivided into flats, plus inter-war semis and terraces stretching into SW20. A lot of these kitchens are galley-sized, with one integrated oven you cannot air out mid-clean, so the no-smell method matters. Turnover is brisk, agents like Dexters on the Broadway keep it moving, and end-of-tenancy cleans are a steady part of the week. Every oven is heat-tested before we leave.
Parking near the Common
SW19 is not easy to park a van in. Wimbledon Village and the town centre both run controlled parking zones, Monday to Saturday, roughly 8.30am to 6.30pm, so on a Village street a technician often ferries the racks and trays a fair distance back to the tank. During the Championships fortnight in early July the roads near the All England Club get busier still. None of it changes the price, and there is no call-out fee inside the South Circular.

Do you charge more for Wimbledon Village?
No. A single oven is £77 whether it is on Marryat Road or off the Broadway. The price follows the appliance.
My AGA has not been touched in years. Can you still do it?
Yes. Heavy build-up is normal on an AGA. The enamel parts soak in the tank and the cast-iron surfaces are cleaned by hand, so £143 handles even a long-neglected one.
Can you come at the weekend during the tennis?
We work seven days a week, including through the Championships. Book a couple of days ahead in early July, when parking near the Common tightens up.
