The SW15 side of the Common is mansion blocks and big houses
The Common and Putney Heath run together as one 1,140-acre open space, and the SW15 end of it is a particular bit of housing: Wildcroft Manor off Wildcroft Road, built in the 1930s on the site of the old manor house, Highlands Heath on Portsmouth Road from 1930, and the handful of houses on Telegraph Road and Heathview Gardens by the green where Roehampton Cricket Club plays. The mansion-block flats have compact kitchens, usually a single fan oven with a hob over it. The houses are the other extreme, and this is one of the few patches in south London where a booking is as likely to be a two-oven AGA clean as a standard single.

Parking near the Common
The Conservators run the car parks on the Common itself, including Windmill Road at SW19 5NR, and those are dawn to dusk and not much use to a working van. What matters more is that Wildcroft Road, Portsmouth Road and Telegraph Road are Wandsworth streets, not Merton ones, so the permit rules on your side of the Common differ from the rules a friend quotes you from Wimbledon Village. SW15 is inside the ULEZ and inside the South Circular, so no call-out fee and no zone charge passed on.

On the day
Non-caustic products go indoors, so the flat does not smell afterwards, which matters in a 1930s block where the kitchen door tends to open straight onto a hall. Door split where the design allows. Oven heat-tested and signed off. Ninety minutes for a single, two hours for a double.
Do you clean AGAs and Rangemasters here?
Yes, both. Two-oven AGA is £143 and a 90cm range cooker is £114. The AGA has to be switched off well ahead, ideally the night before.
Can you get into the mansion blocks?
With a resident letting us in, yes. Wildcroft Manor and Highlands Heath both have parking on site.
Is a pyrolytic oven worth cleaning by hand?
Often yes. The self-clean cycle bakes the cavity but does nothing for the door glass, the seal or the shelves.
How far ahead should I book?
A few days for a weekday slot. Saturdays go first.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
