Willesden Green station opened on the Metropolitan Railway in 1879, and its cream faience buildings on Walm Lane, from Charles Walter Clark's rebuild of 1925, are listed Grade II.
Mansion flats on Walm Lane and Rutland Park
The railway brought its own housing. Rutland Park Mansions, the red brick and stone blocks facing Walm Lane, were designed by G.A. Sexton in 1898 for managers of the Metropolitan Railway, and he designed matching blocks along Rutland Park, built in stages between 1900 and 1910. They are two storeys with a third floor in a steep mansard roof. On Rutland Park, 2 to 22 Rutland Park Gardens are Edwardian flats built to look like pairs of semi-detached houses, the last to go up there.
A flat of that age has probably had its kitchen refitted, so the cooker could be anything from a slim freestanding model to a built-in single under the worktop. There is no difference to the method. Racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen. The door comes apart where its design allows.
Dean Road's town houses, now mostly flats
Brent's conservation appraisal calls Dean Road, which runs parallel to Walm Lane, the best preserved of the streets there. It was part of the Willesden Park Estate. Numbers 1 to 47, with 2 and 4 St Paul's Avenue, are by the builders T.W. Knight and H.W. Wilson: seven pairs of four-storey town houses, two of the pairs in a highly decorative Gothic style.
Few of these big houses are still one home. In the small census area that takes in Dean Road (Brent 022C), 49.0% of households lived in part of a converted or shared house in 2021, and 58.5% of its 752 households rented privately.
Willesden Green was one of three wards in the selective licensing scheme Brent started on 1 August 2023, and since 2 February 2026 almost every private landlord in the borough has needed a licence. Parking near Walm Lane: zone MW, six days a week
Rutland Park, Dean Road, Blenheim Gardens, Riffel Road and most of Walm Lane are in zone MW on Brent's zone map, and Brent's list of parking zones gives its hours as 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. East of the station, towards Mapesbury, parts of Chatsworth Road are in zone MA instead, controlled only 10am to 3pm on weekdays.
That makes Sunday the easy day in MW streets, and a bank holiday too, since Brent's map says the zone does not run on those. A Sunday visit costs the same as a weekday. On other days the team needs a bay. The Wembley event-day zone does not reach this far east.

Is everything cleaned in my kitchen?
The cavity, fan cover and door glass are cleaned by hand there. The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. Some teams have a heated tank on the van and use it when they can park close; otherwise everything is done in the kitchen. The price is the same either way, and you can ask when you book.
Can an extractor or microwave be done at the same visit?
Yes. An extractor hood is £28 and a microwave £22, on top of the oven price.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
