The Tower Gardens cottages off Risley Avenue, the LCC garden-suburb estate laid out between 1904 and 1928, are the older half of our White Hart Lane round. I live in a Tower Gardens cottage. Can you move the cooker out?
Usually we do not need to. The racks and runners come out to the van and the rest is cleaned in place, but if the cooker slides we can pull it to reach behind.
My new flat oven has a self-clean cycle. Is a clean still worth it?
Yes. The cycle burns the cavity floor but skips the door glass, fan cover and racks, which is the part we do by hand.
Do you do end-of-tenancy oven cleans on the estate?
Yes, plenty. The oven is heat-tested and signed off before we go, which is what the inventory clerk checks.
Can you clean the hob and extractor in the same visit?
Yes. A hob is £23–28 and an extractor hood is £28, added to the oven price.
