Green Man Lane, rebuilt in phases
A short walk west of Dean Gardens is the Green Man Lane estate. Parking: Zone WE and Zone U
Ealing's zone pages put Leeland Terrace, parts of Leeland Road, the Broadway addresses at Dean Gardens and a few buildings on Melbourne Avenue and St James Avenue in Zone WE, West Ealing Town Centre, controlled from 9am to 10am and 2pm to 3pm on weekdays. Green Man Lane, Felix Road, Bayham Road and the streets around them are in Zone U, Green Man, controlled from 9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday. In Zone WE a single started at 10am is finished well before 2pm. In Zone U the controlled hours cover most of the working day, so give us the street when you book. Sunday is outside both zones' listed hours, and the council says other restrictions are on the street signs.
West Ealing oven cleaning questions
My flat on the new Green Man Lane estate has a pyrolytic oven. Is a clean still worth it?
It can be. The cycle turns grease in the cavity to ash, but the racks and runners usually have to come out first, and grease that has crept between the panes of door glass stays put. The racks are soaked and cleaned separately, and the door is split where its design allows.
