Before Lambeth made Rosendale Road, Carson Road, Eastmearn Road and Dalmore Road a conservation area in June 1995, it checked the Minet Library's records: most of the houses went up between 1885 and 1911, and Nos. 21 to 31 Eastmearn Road first appear in 1925.
Late Victorian houses off Rosendale Road
Many of them are built of red and yellow stock brick with slate roofs, a mix of single-fronted and double-fronted, and the majority have two storeys. Many keep the plaster foliage around their doors and windows that the council picked out when it designated the area. A short walk south-west, Lancaster Avenue has had its own conservation area since 1994: detached and semi-detached houses from the 1840s to the 1900s on a road 60 feet wide.

Two boroughs either side of Croxted Road
Croxted Road, once Croks Street Lane, was the western edge of the old manor of Dulwich, with Lord Thurlow's estate beyond it. It is still a boundary. Lambeth runs the streets to the west, Southwark those to the east, where Dulwich College stands. The main parade of shops is at the Park Hall Road junction, where Croxted Road turns into South Croxted Road, and there is a smaller one on Rosendale Road.

Parking on Rosendale Road after the 2026 changes
Lambeth consulted on a permit zone for its side of West Dulwich from 2023, cut the proposed hours to noon to 2pm on weekdays in December 2024, and in January 2026 deferred the permit scheme. What went ahead instead were smaller changes, under traffic orders operational from 16 March 2026: free time-limited shopper bays on Rosendale Road, Carson Road and Idmiston Road, a loading bay on Rosendale Road, double yellow lines at junctions and bends, charging points in lamp columns and new cycle hangars. The same decision approved phase 3 of the Brockwell Park to Gipsy Hill healthy route, between the A205 South Circular and Park Hall Road.
South of the South Circular the permit and paid-bay parts of the zone were deferred, so check the signs for the shopper bays and yellow lines: the council's outcome page expected installation from May 2026, and in October 2026 it did not say whether the bays are in yet. North of it, Rosendale Road from Norwood Road down to Thurlow Park Road (the South Circular) joined the Tulse Hill zone, Zone H, when the orders came into force on 2 October 2023, so check the signs there. The team needs somewhere to park, and a space a few doors away works if the kerb outside is full.

How long does an AGA clean take?
About half a day for a two-oven AGA. It has to be switched off the night before so it is cool when we arrive; the AGA cleaning page has the detail.

Yes. The invoice can be addressed to the agency, with photos for the checkout file if they ask for them.
How long is a range cooker visit?
Two to three hours for a 90cm range, against about 90 minutes for a single oven.

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
