Little Venice is split across two postcodes, and the rough rule is south and east for W2: Warwick Crescent, Blomfield Road, Maida Avenue and Westbourne Terrace Road are W2, while the streets climbing north towards Warrington Crescent and Randolph Avenue turn W9. The Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal meets the Regent's Canal here at Browning's Pool, the triangular basin with the island named after Robert Browning.

On the landward side the stock is Regency and high Victorian stucco terraces, conservation area, cut into flats over four or five floors. Kitchens in those conversions are back rooms with a built-in double squeezed under a run of worktop, and the grease finds the side runners first. The houses that stayed whole run to something wider.
Blomfield Road and Maida Avenue are lined on both sides with permanently moored narrowboats.

Getting to the door is half the job on the canal side
The canal is in the way. Because the water cuts straight through the middle of the area and the crossings are limited to the bridges at Warwick Avenue and Westbourne Terrace Road, two addresses that look like neighbours on a map can be several hundred yards apart on foot, which is worth knowing when racks and trays are going back and forth to the van. Westminster controlled parking covers all of it, ULEZ applies, and the towpath is not a road.

No. The caustic side of the work stays in the tank in the van. Indoors the cavity, fan cover and door glass are done by hand with non-caustic products.
Do you clean the oven on a narrowboat?
Yes, if the technician can get the parts off and back to the van. Tell us the mooring when you ring.
What about the door glass?
The door is split where the design allows so the inside of the glass can be reached.
