Warlingham Green was established as a common after the Enclosure Act of 1866; the houses and shops round it went up from about 1900, and the Portland stone war memorial on it was unveiled in 1921.

Parking near Warlingham Green
Tandridge District Council's shoppers' car park for the Green is off Limpsfield Road, up the access road opposite the library (CR6 9HA). It is free, but from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday (bank holidays excepted) the stay is limited to three hours with no return within two, and a ticket must be displayed; the rules are on the council's car parks page. Three hours covers a single or a double. A 90cm range can run to three hours and an AGA takes half a day, so for those a space at the house is better.
