Warlingham Green is a triangle, tree-lined, with the war memorial standing on it and the shops, the village hall and the restaurants set around its edges. The civil parish covers 6.02 square kilometres and held 8,036 people at the 2011 census.
Cranmer and the first Prayer Book
All Saints' Church dates from about 1250 and carries a sixteenth-century wall painting of St Christopher. Its stained glass shows Archbishop Cranmer presenting the first English Prayer Book to Edward VI, and vicars here have long maintained that Cranmer did his early work on the Book of Common Prayer in this church.

The hospital site is housing now
A psychiatric hospital opened on the edge of the village in 1903 as Croydon Mental Hospital, took the name Warlingham Park Hospital in the 1930s, and the ground was later redeveloped as a private housing estate. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out and soak in the heated tank in the van. Cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products. Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
