Walthamstow Village was the borough's first conservation area, designated in December 1967, and the housing shows it. Georgian and early-Victorian terraces run off Orford Road past the Ancient House, the timber-framed hall house that is the oldest home in Waltham Forest. Parking in the village
The streets around St Mary's church and Orford Road are tight, and the parking here is now the Village North permit zone, controlled 7:30am to 10pm every day of the week after the old Village Area zone was reorganised in October 2025, so there is no quiet Sunday window for loading. Tell us the road when you book and we will sort the van.
