The terraces off Hoe Street
Most of our E17 work is the long Victorian and Edwardian terraces off Hoe Street and around Walthamstow Village, where a freestanding cooker or a 90cm range sits in a knocked-through kitchen. The Village is a low-traffic neighbourhood under the borough Mini-Holland scheme, so streets like Orford Road and Eden Road are filtered by bollards. The through route is closed to the van. The racks travel a short way further, and that is the whole of it.
Blackhorse Road and the new flats
The other half of Walthamstow is newer. The Blackhorse Lane regeneration put hundreds of flats up near the station, Blackhorse View alone brought 350 homes in 2022, and nearly all came with a single integrated oven. Those are the quickest cleans we do here. A double in a family terrace takes longer, and the price follows the work rather than the address.

- Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out and soak in a heated tank in the van; the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell after.
Parking near the market
Walthamstow High Street holds Europe's longest outdoor street market, about a kilometre from St James Street to Hoe Street, trading since 1885. On market days the streets around it are tight, and most of central E17 is a weekday controlled parking zone. We read the signs and plan the stop, so you keep your space.
Where the semis are
Around Lloyd Park and the William Morris Gallery the stock shifts to 1930s semis, usually a built-in double under the hob. Where the door comes apart we split it and clean the pane a sponge never touches, then heat-test the oven before we go. A double oven clean in one of those semis runs to about two hours.

Can you reach the low-traffic streets in Walthamstow Village?
Yes. The filters on Orford Road and Eden Road block through traffic, not access. We park as near as the permit bays allow and carry the parts.
How long does a single oven take?
About ninety minutes. A double is nearer two hours because of the extra racks, the fan cover and the door glass.
Do you do move-out cleans for a tenancy?
Yes, and often. The clean covers the inner door glass and the runners, which is what a check-out inventory tends to fail people on.
