The name mostly survives underground
The tube station was called Walham Green from 1880 until 2 March 1952, when London Transport gave in to the Fulham Chamber of Commerce and renamed it Fulham Broadway, and the old tiled name is still on the Grade II listed 1905 entrance Harry W Ford designed for the Stamford Bridge crowds. Plenty of people who book us here still say Walham Green. Plenty say Fulham Broadway. Same streets, same postcode, SW6.
Walham Grove is the tree-lined one. The houses along it and around St John's, the church put up in 1828 on the site of the old village pond, are period stock split into flats, and the kitchen is usually squeezed into a rear return where the ceiling drops. Ovens end up under a worktop with four inches of clearance on the hinge side.

Fulham Road shuts between Harwood Road and Hortensia Road ninety minutes before kick-off and reopens about an hour after the final whistle, and the resident bays around the ground are controlled seven days a week, with enforcement that gets keener on match days. So we book Walham Green mornings, or Sundays without a fixture. If you want an afternoon slot inside the closure, we check the fixture list first. That is not a line we use elsewhere in Fulham.
