Vintry is a wine hall, a Wren church and a bridge approach
Vintners' Hall sits on Upper Thames Street beside the City end of Southwark Bridge, rebuilt between 1671 and 1675 after the Great Fire took the first one. The ward is named for the Garlickhythe dock, where medieval merchants landed French wine and garlic, and Wren's St James Garlickhythe still carries the name up on Garlick Hill. Vintry also had Whittington's Longhouse, a 128-seat public toilet paid for by Dick Whittington. Residents are thin on the ground.
The western boundary is an odd line following Little Trinity Lane, Lambeth Hill and Distaff Lane.

Upper Thames Street is a red route, so we do not stop on it
Upper Thames Street is the A3211 and part of the TfL road network, red-lined for no stopping at any time. The van takes a City pay-by-phone bay up the hill instead and the parts walk down. Our problem, already priced in.
