Upper Norwood runs along one of the highest ridges in London, and the housing splits by height: three-storey Victorian villas line Church Road, Central Hill and Beulah Hill, while smaller two-storey terraces sit on the slopes below. The big villas near the ridge are where range cookers and the occasional AGA turn up, kept from when these were single family houses. Ridge villas and slope terraces

Parking on the hills
The gradient here is a real working fact. Some slope streets are narrow enough that cars parked both sides leave no room for the van, so we ask which road you are on. Around the Triangle and Westow Street there are daytime controlled bays, run by whichever borough owns that stretch; further out towards Beulah Hill many roads are still open kerbside. All of SE19 is inside the ULEZ and there is no premium for this postcode.
How the clean works
- Dip-tank method
- Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell after.
- Two-oven AGA clean
- A full cast-iron range clean done in place, heat-tested before we leave. Common in the ridge villas.

Prices are fixed on the phone. A single takes about ninety minutes, a double nearer two hours. No call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

Yes. A two-oven AGA is £143 and a 90cm range is £114. Say which you have when you book so we bring the right kit.
Can the van reach my street on the hill?
Usually. Some slope roads are tight if cars park both sides, so tell us the road and we plan the parking and the carry.
Will there be a chemical smell after?
No. The heavy soaking is done in the van and the indoor work uses non-caustic products, so the kitchen is usable straight away.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
