Most of our Tottenham work sits in the long Victorian and Edwardian terraces off the High Road, plus the ex-council and new-build flats that have gone up around the stadium. Those terraces, built roughly 1880 to 1910, tend to have freestanding cookers and the occasional 90cm range squeezed into a back kitchen. The newer flats near White Hart Lane run the other way: integrated single ovens, tight galley layouts, not much floor to work on.
Where the jobs come from
A lot of it is turnover. Tottenham has dense HMO and rental stock off the High Road, so end-of-tenancy calls come in steadily, often the day before a check-out. We also get repeat work in family homes on the Tower Gardens estate, the Arts and Crafts cottage estate off Lordship Lane that has been a conservation area since 1978, and those two-up two-down cottages usually run one hard-used single oven that has never seen a proper clean.
Parking here is a real part of the day. Tower Gardens has an event-day zone that switches on when Spurs are at home, and the Tottenham Hale and North Tottenham controlled zones cover a lot of the terraced streets. We carry the racks out to the van, so we plan around whichever CPZ is live.
How the dip-tank clean works
The shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass get degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left behind. We split the door where the design allows. Then the oven is heat-tested and signed off. A single takes about ninety minutes, a double nearer two hours.
