Syon Lane is an old road. It was turnpiked in 1767 and straightened in 1779, and until the eighteenth century it carried on south of the London Road, through what is now the park of Syon House, to Isleworth church.
Semis round Syon Lane station
The Great West Road opened in 1925 and crossed Syon Lane at what became Gillette Corner. Within ten years, the Victoria County History records, large factories lined the new road east of Syon Lane, while semi-detached houses ran along it further west and along the many new roads laid out on each side. The Gillette building on the corner, by Sir Banister Fletcher, is listed Grade II and has a brick tower with a four-faced clock; over 1,000 people worked there in 1958. The Southern Railway opened Syon Lane station, about 100 metres south of the corner, on 5 July 1931.
The roads beside the station are Northumberland Gardens and Hexham, Rothbury, Warkworth, Otterburn and Redesdale Gardens, all Northumberland place names. In that census area (Hounslow 009C), 51.5% of the 623 households lived in a semi in 2021 and 11.4% in part of a converted or shared house. 35.6% rented privately, and 30.1% owned their home outright.
A semi may have a built-in oven in a refitted kitchen or a freestanding cooker between the units, and the two are cleaned the same way:

Flats planned at Gillette Corner
St Edward, a Berkeley Group and M&G venture, has permission for up to 2,150 homes on the Tesco and Homebase sites, in blocks of up to 17 storeys. A planning inspector recommended refusal in December 2022; on 11 December 2023 the Housing Minister, deciding for the Secretary of State, granted permission for both sites. Until those are built, the lets here are in the existing semis and flats; letting agents can have the invoice in the agency's name and photos for the checkout file.

Each appliance has one price, agreed on the phone before the visit. A double oven takes about 2 hours, a single about 90 minutes.
The Syon Lane Station parking zone
Hounslow's parking map puts Northumberland, Hexham, Rothbury, Warkworth, Otterburn and Redesdale Gardens in the Syon Lane Station zone, controlled 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. East of the station, Brambles Close is in the Marlborough Road area zone, 9.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays. A Saturday or Sunday visit falls outside both, at the weekday price. The council calls the map guidance only and says the street signs decide.
