Surbiton Hill oven cleaning from £77 with London Oven Cleaners. The oven is heated and inspected by you before we leave, and any corner that is not right is put right.
Ewell Road, which climbs the hill south of Surbiton station, was the high road from Kingston to Ewell and Epsom, and much of the land round it was Surbiton Common, around 190 acres of open ground, until an Act of Parliament passed in 1808 began its enclosure.
From Surbiton Common to the Oakhill villas
Building was slow at first. A few large houses and some cottages went up, Horner Cottage at 73 Ewell Road among them (it is listed Grade II), and then the railway arrived and the area filled with houses until about 1865. The Arts and Crafts mansion now known as Hillcroft College came later. Kingston's Oakhill conservation area, designated in 1988 and extended in 2009, follows the old road and takes in five large houses on Langley Road.
The name moves about. The council's page on the town centre says the countryside there, before the 19th-century building, was often referred to as Surbiton Hill, while Surbiton Hill Park, a road in Berrylands ward, sits in a separate conservation area of villas built from 1864 to 1887.
Lovelace Road, where villas became flats
Lovelace Road, Lovelace Gardens, Corkran Road and Langley Avenue were laid out as formal avenues of big houses on large plots around the 1860s. Most of the Victorian and Edwardian villas round Lovelace Gardens have since been replaced by flats, the council's borough character study records. On Oakhill Road and Oakhill Crescent a few original villas stand beside large blocks, Glenbuck Road has flats rising to five storeys, and the old railway depot land behind the station carries three- and four-storey blocks.
The 2021 Census gives the result. In Surbiton Hill ward, 54.6% of households lived in a purpose-built block of flats, the highest share of any ward in Kingston, and another 12.3% in a converted or shared house.

A flat built in the last few decades usually has a fitted kitchen with a built-in oven, and some of those ovens are pyrolytic.
- Pyrolytic cycle
- The oven heats its own cavity until grease turns to ash. The racks usually have to come out first.
- A professional clean
- Racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately; the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand in the flat, and the door is split where its design allows.
The guide to pyrolytic self-cleaning against a professional clean goes through when each one makes sense.

Zone T on Oakhill and Lovelace Road
Lovelace Road, Lovelace Gardens, Langley Road, Oak Hill, the Oakhill roads, Glenbuck Road, Walpole Road and the west side of Ewell Road between South Terrace and Kingsdowne Road are all in Kingston's Zone T (Oakhill). The main area is controlled from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday; Kingsdowne Road only from 10am to 3pm on weekdays. The character study lists on-street parking as a problem in the Oakhill Road area, so a space in your block's car park, or a visitor voucher where Kingston sells them, helps.
Closer to town the streets are in Zone S, covered on the Surbiton page.

Said after the sign-off
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
