Greyhounds raced at Wimbledon Stadium on Plough Lane from 1928 until the last meeting on 25 March 2017. The track stood just over the borough line in Merton, and Merton's planning committee had already approved, on 10 December 2015, a new football stadium and 602 homes on the site.
Hazelhurst Road after the V2
At 8.31am on Sunday 19 November 1944 a V2 rocket landed on Hazelhurst Road. Wandsworth Council's record of the green plaque there says at least 35 people were killed and fifty properties were destroyed outright.
