A V2 rocket came down on Hazelhurst Road in 1944, and the Hazelhurst estate that Wandsworth put up on the cleared ground between 1969 and 1973 is still the biggest block of kitchens in this pocket. Then there is Wimbledon Grounds on Plough Lane, where the greyhound track closed in March 2017 and was demolished in 2018, and the ten buildings of flats that replaced it around the new stadium sold out in 2023. Those are integrated appliances behind a cabinet door, and enough of them are stacked pairs that a double at £110 is the usual booking.

Does the dip tank come into my flat?
No. It is heated and it stays in the van. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners are carried out to it, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are done by hand indoors with non-caustic products.
My oven is integrated in a new Plough Lane flat. Any problem?
None. Integrated ovens are most of the work in the newer stock here, and the appliance stays in its housing.
Will the kitchen smell afterwards?
It should not. Nothing caustic is used inside the property, so there is no fume left behind once we go.
How long should I set aside?
Around ninety minutes for a single, roughly two hours for a double. The oven gets switched on and heat-tested before it is signed off.
