Wembley Point, the 21-storey tower beside Stonebridge Park station, went up in 1965 as Brent's first tall tower block and began as a workplace for London Weekend Television. Since January 2022 it has been flats.
A Victorian estate name on a 1912 station
The name is older than the station. In the 1870s the architect H. E. Kendall laid out a private estate beside Harrow Road, first called Harlesdon Park and soon renamed Stonebridge Park, selling Italianate villas for city men. By 1876 it had 60 villas and the Stonebridge Park Hotel on Harrow Road. All but the hotel and two villas in Morland Gardens have since gone. One of those two, the locally listed villa Altamira at 1 Morland Gardens, was the subject of a petition to Brent's Full Council in September 2025, asking that it be kept in any redevelopment of the site for affordable homes and youth facilities.
The station opened in 1912, and Brent's archive says the area west of the River Brent developed slowly. In 1933 an aqueduct was built to carry the canal over the North Circular Road; it was damaged by an IRA bomb in 1939, and the present one dates from 1993. The Ace Cafe opened beside the road in 1938 to feed lorry drivers through the night.
New flats beside the station
Homes are arriving now. Beside the station, the converted tower is now WEM Tower, and plans submitted in 2022 would add a 32-storey block and a second building of 10 to 20 storeys on the same site. Opposite the station, Brent approved 180 affordable homes at Argenta House in November 2025, 88 for social rent and 92 for shared ownership, due by early 2030. Across the river, the council's Bridge Park scheme on the site of the old Unisys buildings is planned to bring more than 1,000 homes, with a planning application expected in autumn 2026.
A new or converted flat is likely to have an integrated 60cm single, which takes about 90 minutes. The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen.

Parking near Argenta Way and on event days
Argenta Way and Point Place have no controlled parking zone on Brent's map, but both are inside the Wembley event day zone, where only permit holders may park on a stadium event day, generally from 10am to midnight on residential streets and from 8am on the main roads. South-west of the station, the Old North Circular Road and Beresford Avenue are shown in zone BA, controlled 8.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays, though BA is not on the council's printed zone list, so check the signs. The team needs somewhere to park for the whole visit; for a flat in a tower, tell us the block and floor when you ring.
Stonebridge Park oven cleaning questions
Is Stonebridge Park the same place as the Stonebridge estate?
Not quite. The station sits west of the River Brent in Tokyngton ward; the estate rebuilt around Hillside is east of the river in Stonebridge ward. Both are in Brent.
I have just moved into a flat in WEM Tower. What do you need from me?

How long does an integrated single take?
About 90 minutes from the dust sheets going down to the oven being heated for you to inspect.
Is the oven cleaned inside the flat?
The cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen. The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the oven is reassembled and heated for you to inspect before we leave.
