The Stepney Green conservation area has been protected since 1969, and the Georgian and Victorian terraces inside it are where a lot of our E1 work lands. Those kitchens often hold a freestanding range or an older double that just needs the years taken off it. A few streets away the Ocean Estate is a different job, off Ben Jonson Road and Duckett Street, where the flats mostly run fitted single ovens.
The two kinds of Stepney kitchen we see
Stepney is dense and rented hard. Between Mile End Road and Commercial Road the terraces around Albert Gardens, Carlton Square and Sidney Square change hands often, so a lot of our bookings are the clean at the end of a tenancy. The estate flats near Stepney Green station are the steady other half.
What the dip-tank does
Shelves, trays, side runners and racks go into a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass stay in your kitchen and get degreased by hand with non-caustic products, which is why there is no chemical smell after we leave. Where the door allows, we split it and clear the film between the panes. Last thing, we run the oven, check it heats and sign it off.

Parking on the terraced streets
Parking in Stepney is real work. The council controls its zones seven days a week, 8:30am to 10pm, and on the tighter terraces off Stepney Green and around Ford Square the kerb is often full, so a technician carrying racks back to the tank is normal.

Yes. Ocean Estate and the blocks around Stepney Green are a regular part of our week. We heat-test the oven and confirm the clean for the inventory.
Is the range cooker in an old terrace a problem?
No. The shelves and burner parts go out to the tank and we hand-clean the rest. A 90cm range is £114.
Will the flat smell of chemicals?
It will not. We use non-caustic products by hand indoors and the strong soaking stays in the van.
Can you come at the weekend?
We run seven days. Weekend slots in E1 fill first, so book ahead if you can.
