Half the homes at the E16 4QH end of Star Lane are social rented. The station is younger than the track under it
Star Lane DLR only opened on 31 August 2011, on the Stratford International extension between West Ham and Canning Town, but the alignment goes back to the Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway of 1846. There were four tracks here once. The western pair went to the Jubilee line extension in 1999 and the eastern pair carried the North London Line until the DLR took them over in 2006, which is how an unstaffed island platform ended up sitting on Victorian railway land in the middle of a housing area.
Manor Road is changing the mix
The English Cities Fund is building Manor Road Quarter with the Greater London Authority, Newham and Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing: 804 homes in total, half of them affordable, with a 2.9 hectare linear park going in alongside. The first phase at 300 Manor Road is finished and occupied. Those flats have integrated single ovens and induction or ceramic hobs, so they clean differently to a twenty-year-old gas cooker in a Star Lane terrace, though the price list does not care which you have.

Is an old cooker worth cleaning?
Usually, yes. Age is not the issue; heavy carbon build-up is, and the tank in the van handles baked-on deposits on racks and shelves that hand-scrubbing at a sink will not shift in any reasonable time.

They come out with the racks and trays and go in the tank. Everything fixed, the cavity, the fan cover, the door glass, gets done by hand indoors with non-caustic products.
