The parish had 171 residents at the 2021 census, across 670 hectares. That is fewer people than it held in 1801, when the count was 196, and well under half the Victorian peak of 350 in 1841. There is not much of a village here and it would be silly to pretend otherwise.
A parish three miles long and one mile wide
Stapleford Tawney runs roughly 3 miles north to south and is only about a mile across for most of that, dropping below 30 metres near the River Roding and rising past 90 metres in the north. The M25 clips the southern tip. Epping Forest District, Essex, about 4 miles west of Chipping Ongar.

There is the small linear group of houses and farms on Tawney Lane around the church; there are the two hamlets in the north, Colliers Hatch and Tawney Common, which sit about 2 miles from that church; and there are the working farms in between. Stock like that is mostly farmhouse and cottage rather than flats, which usually means a freestanding range or an AGA with a hob over it instead of an integrated single under a counter, and a two-oven AGA out at Tawney Common is £143 with the cooker cold before we arrive.
St Mary's dates from about 1220
The chancel went up first, around 1220, then the nave and the side chapel, with the timber tower and porch added about 1500 and the vestry built during a thorough restoration in 1862. It is Grade II* listed and seats roughly 100. Mains electricity only reached the parish in 1932 and piped water in 1949.

No. The heated tank and the water are both in the van, which is where the racks, shelves, trays and side runners soak while the cavity, fan cover and door glass get degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products.

About ninety minutes, then it is heat-tested and signed off.

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
