The larger detached houses up Stanmore Hill and along Dennis Lane and Aylmer Drive are where we see the bigger cookers. These are the plots set back behind generous front gardens, and because the houses are large enough to carry a proper kitchen, they tend to run to a 90cm range or a two-oven AGA rather than the standard built-in single you find in a smaller semi. That changes the job. A range has more burners and a second cavity; an AGA is cast iron and needs a different touch, which is why we price them apart from a plain single oven.
The dip-tank method still does the heavy lifting. Racks, shelves, trays and the side runners come out and soak in the heated tank in the van, while the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products. No smell is left behind. On a cast-iron AGA clean the enamel and the two ovens get worked by hand and the whole thing is heat-tested before we sign it off.
Access and the driveways here
Parking is the easy part of a Stanmore day. Most of these houses have a driveway or space out front, so we stop close and carry the parts a short way to the van. There is very little controlled parking this far up in HA7, unlike the tighter streets nearer town. Stanmore station sits at the top of the Jubilee line, so if you are near The Broadway or the Little Common conservation streets off Old Church Lane, we know the roads.

Questions we get in Stanmore
Do you clean AGAs and range cookers as well as built-in ovens?
Yes. A 90cm range is £114 and a two-oven AGA is £143. Both take longer than a standard oven, and we bring the kit for cast iron.
My kitchen has a separate double oven and a five-burner hob. Can you do both?
We can. The double oven is £110 and the hob is £23–28. Booking them together means one visit rather than two.
Is there a surcharge because Stanmore is more expensive?
No. Prices are fixed on the phone and the same across every area we cover. HA7 pays what NW9 pays.
How long does an AGA clean take?
Longer than a normal oven. Allow a good part of a morning; the cast iron and the two ovens take proper hand work before the heat test.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
