The flats around Chalton Street
Most of our St Pancras work is the Ossulston Estate, the London County Council blocks put up along Chalton Street between 1927 and 1931 and now Grade II listed, plus the newer flats that went up behind the British Library and around the Francis Crick Institute. Levita House and Walker House have small kitchens with a 60cm single built into a fitted run, usually electric, usually the landlord's choice rather than the tenant's. The estate blocks and the new-builds want the same job. It is the fitted single oven, every time.
We have cleaned in this postcode for years and have never once been called to an AGA here. Questions we get in WC1
Will the flat smell of chemicals afterwards?
No. The caustic work happens in the heated tank in the van, outside. Indoors we degrease the cavity, fan cover and door glass by hand with non-caustic products.
Do you charge extra for a central London postcode?
No. The price is the same in WC1 as it is in Zone 4, and there is no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.
Can you work around a check-out inspection?
Usually. Tell us the inventory time when you ring and we will slot the clean the day before if there is space.
Is the oven usable straight after?
Yes. We heat-test it and sign it off before we leave.
