Two addresses account for most of our SW1H work. One is The Broadway, the 258 flats Northacre finished in 2022 on the old New Scotland Yard site, six towers between fourteen and nineteen storeys. The other is One Queen Anne's Gate, where 27 apartments and twelve affordable homes sit behind the listed fronts of twelve former Georgian townhouses, on a street described as the best early eighteenth-century houses in London. The kitchens could not be less alike.
The same oven, forty times over
Everything in The Broadway came out of one fit-out, so on the residential floors we meet the same integrated single oven again and again, same housing, same fan cover, same two screws. The larger flats run a stacked pair, which is a double oven clean at £110 and about two hours. Very little is burnt-on. These are people who roast at the weekend and eat out midweek, and the grease is thin and even rather than the black lacquer you get off a family oven in a terrace, which makes the door glass the longest part of the job.
Georgian fronts, kitchens in the back rooms
Queen Anne's Gate is the opposite problem. Listed status means the kitchen went wherever it fitted, usually a back room with a chimney breast still in it, and the oven ends up in joinery with no clearance behind. Racks go out to the van and the cavity is worked in place. Nothing gets sprayed near a period floor.
Birdcage Walk and the guard
Birdcage Walk has nothing we can stop on, so the van sits on a metered bay off Petty France or Caxton Street. Wellington Barracks is right there. On a Changing the Guard morning the approach roads shut and a ten-minute walk becomes twenty-five, which is worth knowing if you have asked for a nine o'clock start.

No. The price is fixed on the phone and there is no premium-area surcharge. A single is £77 here and £77 in Tottenham.
Can you work with the building's concierge?
Yes, and at The Broadway it is easier if you tell the desk we are coming. Our technicians are DBS-checked and insured, and we can send the certificate through if the building asks.
What happens to the racks?
They go into a heated tank in the van and soak while we are indoors. Side runners and trays go with them. Everything comes back, gets dried and refitted, and the oven is heat-tested before we sign it off.
