Southborough runs along Southborough Lane, the spine that carries the shops, the library and the two pubs, The Chequers and The Crooked Billet, and nearly all our BR2 work here is the semi-detached houses that went up either side of it in the 1920s and 1930s. The place is named after South Barrow, a house that once stood where Birdham Close is now.
