Most of our SW19 work sits in the Victorian and Edwardian terraces off Merton High Street and the flats around the High Path Estate, where the ovens are freestanding cookers in the terraces and built-in singles in the newer conversions. The terraces near Abbey Road tend to have a gas cooker wedged into a narrow galley, so we lift the racks and side runners out and carry them to the tank rather than crowd the kitchen. It works either way.
What the clean actually involves
Racks, shelves, trays and the side runners come out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, the fan cover and the door glass we degrease by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left in the kitchen when we go. We split the door where the design allows to reach the film between the panes. Then the oven gets heat-tested and signed off before we leave.

Parking around the zones
South Wimbledon runs several controlled parking zones, S1, S2, S3, SW and SW1, and most operate Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 6.30pm. We factor the walk to the van in. On the tighter terrace streets near South Wimbledon station on the Northern line we may need to load a few doors down, which is fine, it just means the trays travel a little further to soak.
There is no chemical smell left in the kitchen when we go.

Do you cover the flats on the High Path Estate?
Yes. Those are mostly integrated single ovens, and a single at £77 is the usual job there. We work around the estate parking and carry the racks to the van.
My terrace kitchen off Merton High Street is tiny. Is that a problem?
No. The bulky parts leave the room and soak in the tank outside, so a small galley kitchen actually suits the method. We only need space at the oven itself.
Will the products smell after you go?
They should not. The hand work indoors uses non-caustic products, and the strong-smelling soaking happens in the van, not your kitchen.
Do you charge extra because it is Wimbledon?
No. A single is £77 whether you are in SW19 or anywhere else we cover. Prices are the same across the board.
