Where Ealing village began
Ealing started as a straggle of buildings round its parish church. The church on the corner of St Mary's Road and South Ealing Road was recast by S.S. Teulon between 1866 and 1873 from the Georgian church that opened in 1740, and around it a few small old houses survive: No 15 Church Lane, probably 17th century, and the modest Georgian terraces on two sides of St Mary's Square, which also has a fire station of 1888. Parking in Zone S and Zone C
The streets by the station, such as Lothair Road and Venetia Road, are in Ealing's Zone S, which the council lists as controlled from 10am to 7.30pm on weekdays. On Saturdays the zone splits: the north side is controlled from 10am to 4pm and the south side from 10am to 1pm.
