Almost every Soho oven we clean sits at the top of a narrow staircase above a restaurant or a shop on Dean Street, Frith Street or Old Compton Street, with no lift. That single fact shapes the whole job. The racks, shelves and trays still lift out and go to the tank in the van, but the walk down three flights and back is the slow part, so we plan for it. The flats themselves are small, and the ovens are usually a single integrated unit fitted into a compact kitchen.
A quick note on access
The older buildings here are Georgian, some of the Dean Street houses date to the 1730s, and a good number have been split into period conversions above the commercial floors. Those kitchens were fitted into rooms that were never designed as kitchens, so the oven can be tucked into an awkward corner. We work around it. The method does not change.
How we clean it
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left in a small Soho flat where the kitchen opens onto the living space. We heat-test the oven and sign it off before we go. A single takes about ninety minutes.

Central W1 does not cost more. There is no premium-area surcharge, and no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular. A single integrated oven in a Soho flat is £77, the same as anywhere else. If you want the compact hob done too, the single oven cleaning can be booked with a hob in one visit.
Parking in W1D
Parking is the real operational cost in Soho. The whole area sits in Westminster's Zone A controlled parking zone, with bays that are permit-only or pay-by-phone Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 6:30 and Saturday mornings, and there are red routes on Charing Cross Road and along Oxford Street where we cannot stop at all. Berwick Street is often part-closed for the market. We know the streets that work, and we build the parking into the visit, so it is not something you need to sort.
My flat is above a restaurant with no lift. Is that a problem?
No. It is the normal Soho job for us. We carry the racks and trays down to the van and bring them back cleaned. It adds a little time, not cost.
Will the flat smell of chemicals?
No. The caustic soaking happens in the tank outside. Indoors we use only non-caustic products by hand, which matters in an open-plan Soho flat where there is nowhere for a smell to go.
Do you cover Sundays and evenings?
