Wards Furnishing Stores traded from the Edwardian corner building above Seven Sisters station until 1972, and part of it later became the Latin Village market. In November 2025 Haringey's Cabinet agreed to stop pursuing a compulsory purchase order for the Wards Corner site, saying full redevelopment was not financially viable at this time.
A 22-storey rental tower at the junction
On another corner of the same crossroads, where Seven Sisters Road meets the High Road, stands Apex Gardens: a 22-storey tower of 163 flats, with a six-storey block and a short row of houses beside it. Its architects give the split as 68% private rented homes and 32% affordable housing.

Council flats between St Ann's Road and West Green Road
Seven Sisters ward (2022 boundaries) had 3,457 households at the 2021 Census. 41.0% lived in a purpose-built block of flats, 28.0% in a terraced house and 16.9% in part of a converted house. More than a third, 37.3%, rented from a social landlord (26.0% straight from the council), 35.3% rented privately and 25.8% owned their home.
The Sir Frederick Messer Estate is at the corner of Seven Sisters Road and St Ann's Road. In October 2025 the council's Cabinet approved a contractor to build 66 more council homes beside it, 25 of them with three bedrooms. In a block, the kitchen can be a lift ride and a corridor from the street. That changes the timing, nothing else. Tell us the floor and whether there is a lift.

The price is set by the appliance (a single, a double or a 90cm range) and agreed on the phone before anyone comes out. A single takes about 90 minutes on site.
Seven Sisters has three parking zones
On Haringey's zone map, Southey Road, Westerfield Road, Greenfield Road and Elizabeth Road are in the Seven Sisters zone, controlled Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm. Stonebridge Road, Durnford Street and the estate corner at St Ann's Road are in Seven Sisters South, Monday to Friday only. Russell Road, Seaford Road, Elmar Road and Brunel Walk, further west, are in the St Ann's zone, Monday to Saturday. A few streets, Roslyn Road among them, are split between two zones, so the sign on your street settles it. The council's list of zone hours has the detail. Can you come on a Saturday?
Yes, at the weekday price. Saturday is inside the hours of the Seven Sisters and St Ann's zones, so give us the street name and we will plan where the van can stop.
My new-build flat has a pyrolytic oven. Is a clean still worth it?
The self-clean cycle reduces spills inside the cavity to ash, but the racks and side runners usually come out before it runs and stay as they were. A hand clean covers those as well as the cavity and the door.
How long does a double oven take?
About two hours on site.
What do you need on the day?
A working socket, the oven cool when we arrive, and somewhere near the door to park.
