Seven Kings station opened on 1 March 1899, with a developer's guarantee behind it. Archibald Cameron Corbett, a Glasgow MP who was building houses across Ilford, promised the railway at least £10,000 in season ticket sales over the first five years, and put down £1,000 as security, for new stations at Seven Kings and Goodmayes.
Corbett's houses north of the High Road
Most of the building at Seven Kings was north of the High Road, on Corbett's Downshall estate, and it went up in a rush. An Ilford historian writing in 1901, quoted in the Romford Recorder, said land that was "agricultural land in 1896, with scarcely a house within a mile of it" was now covered in bricks and mortar, and the raw new suburb was nicknamed Klondyke. The Corbett Society says the unlit roads were almost impassable with mud in winter. The society says most of the houses were smaller than at Woodgrange, and it illustrates a three-bedroom house on Pembroke Road. He also gave the land for Seven Kings Park, which opened in 1902 where the Downshall Farm house had stood.
Long, straight terraces of that date usually have the kitchen in the narrow back addition, so the cooker sits against a side wall with little space either side. Some of the houses are now split into an upstairs and a downstairs flat, each with its own small kitchen.

Seven Kings ward had 4,572 households in the 2021 census, and 42.1% of them rented privately, against 49.9% who owned. A further 12.8% lived in part of a converted or shared house, and 40.3% in a whole terraced house.

Racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. Inside, the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand, and the door comes apart where its design lets it.
Seven Kings A and B: parking near the station
Redbridge's permit zone map puts the roads nearest the station into two zones, both controlled from 8.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Seven Kings A covers the streets just north of the station, including Cameron Road and the southern ends of Cambridge Road and Pembroke Road; further up, those two roads leave the zone. Seven Kings B is south of the railway, taking in Elmstead Road and Eynsford Road. Inside a zone a permit is needed during those hours, and the council issues visitor permits. The council asks drivers to check the signs, because times change.

Yes. The zone is controlled Monday to Saturday only, and a Sunday visit costs the same as a weekday.
I rent the upstairs flat of a converted house. Does the staircase matter?

Our freestanding cooker has a small grill oven above the main one. Is that a double?
If the top compartment is a separate oven, it is priced as a double at £110 and takes about 2 hours.
Can you come the day before the inventory?
