London Oven Cleaners clean ovens in Sarratt from £77. The oven is put back together and lit, you look inside, and anything not right is put right before we leave.

Over the door of the Boot, on the north-east side of The Green in Sarratt, a clay tile reads 'RNM 1739'. Further north on the same side, Red Lion Cottage began in the 16th century as an open hall, and the kitchen wing at its back carries the date 'TS 1752'.

Houses along Sarratt's long green

The Victoria County History of 1908 described Sarratt as a long, wide village green with the houses standing along its edges, and the parish church three-quarters of a mile off at Church End. The Green and Church End each became a conservation area in 1969, and the parish holds 93 listed buildings, most of them Grade II.

The listed houses on The Green span three centuries. The Old Forge has an early 17th-century timber frame behind a brick front of the 1700s. The White Cottage is a stuccoed villa of about 1840 to 1850 with a slender wooden verandah, joined to the older Sarratt House. South-east of The Green, Green End Cottage on Dimmocks Lane is a 16th-century house of one storey and an attic. The Green has a cast-iron village pump of the mid to late 1800s, about 30 metres south-west of Sarratt House, its drum about two metres across.

Village cottage kitchen with a freestanding cooker

In a house that old the kitchen has usually moved at least once, often into a later wing or an extension, so the cooker could be a built-in double, a range or a freestanding cooker. Say which when you ring and the price is set before anyone drives out.

Half of Sarratt's homes are owned outright

The 2021 Census area Three Rivers 003D had 1,932 residents, against 1,931 for Sarratt parish, so it is a close match for the parish. Of its 806 households, 58.2% lived in a detached house and 20.7% in a semi, while only 4.2% had a purpose-built flat. Owners made up 81.1%, and 51.4% owned the house outright with no mortgage left.

Outright ownership usually comes later in life, once a mortgage is paid off. If kneeling at the oven door and scrubbing shelves in the sink has lost its appeal, none of it falls to you. Dust sheets go down, the racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand.

Parking on Sarratt's narrow lanes

The Sarratt Neighbourhood Plan, as summarised in its examiner's report, says many roads in the parish are too narrow to park on, and that some of the village's parking is informal, on the street. Policy 10 of the plan, which voters backed by 666 to 23 in a referendum in November 2025, resists the loss of parking in the village. No Sarratt road is on Three Rivers' list of residents' permit streets, though signs on the road still apply. A space on your drive is the easiest.

Bucks Hill, a hamlet in Sarratt parish, has several houses listed at Grade II; the oldest, Blenheim Cottage and Buckshill Bottom, go back to the late 16th century.

Chandler's Cross, in the same district, is a scatter of houses along Chandlers Lane and Redhall Lane; Chandler's Farm House on Chandlers Lane began in the late 15th century as a two-bay open hall.

Sarratt oven cleaning questions

Do you come out to Church End and Micklefield Green as well as The Green?

Yes. The Green, Church End and Micklefield Green are all in Sarratt parish, and the price is fixed on the phone as for any other address.

Do I need to be at home for the whole visit?

Someone needs to let us in, and to look inside the lit oven at the end, because that look is the sign-off. In between you can get on with your day.

Is there anything to do the night before?

An AGA needs switching off the night before so it is cool by morning; any other oven just needs to be cold when we arrive. The guide to preparing for your oven clean has the rest.

Can I cancel without paying?

Yes, up to 24 hours before the visit. A weekend slot costs the same as a weekday one.

What customers tell us

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.

HelenSW4

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.

JoanaTW13

Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
