Brunswick Centre and the mansion blocks
The single biggest source of oven work within a few minutes of Russell Square gardens is the Brunswick Centre, Patrick Hodgkinson's 1972 terraces above the shops, Grade II listed since 2000, with 560 flats that Camden leases for council housing. Those are galley kitchens with an under-counter single. Nearly all of them are electric.
The other half is the mansion flats. Bloomsbury Mansions on Russell Square itself, Aberdeen Mansions over on Kenton Street, and the converted upper floors of the Bedford Estate Georgian terraces are where the bigger kitchens sit, and that is where a double oven clean in a Bedford Way mansion flat comes in at £110 rather than the single rate.

The term calendar runs the diary
Garden Halls on Cartwright Gardens holds around 1,200 student rooms on its own, and the private lets on Marchmont Street and Judd Street turn over on much the same rhythm, which means our WC1 diary spikes in late June and again in early September rather than spreading evenly across the year. Book those weeks ahead. The rest of the year is quiet enough to get you a next-day slot.
We park in a bay, not on the square
Russell Square is CA-E, Camden's Bloomsbury zone, controlled 8:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday, so our technician pays a bay on Bernard Street or Herbrand Street and walks the trays in. The gardens themselves are no use to us. Nobody parks on those.

How long will you be in the flat?
About ninety minutes for a single, around two hours for a double. The Brunswick Centre kitchens are small, so we work off a mat and keep the trays in the van.
Do you clean the door glass?
Yes, and we split the door where the design allows it so the inside faces get done properly.
Is there a central London surcharge?
No. Prices are fixed on the phone and there is no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.
Can a letting agent book on a tenant's behalf?
Yes, and plenty do around Marchmont Street. We need someone with a key to let us in and the oven left cool.
