Manor Farm, by the junction of Bury Street and Eastcote Road at the north end of Ruislip High Street, is a farmhouse of 16th-century origin with two weatherboarded barns to its west; King's College, Cambridge, lords of the manor, gave the house and farm buildings to the people of Ruislip, and the smaller barn became a branch library.
The old village and the garden suburb
Hillingdon made the medieval core a conservation area in 1969. The council's leaflet says the listed buildings cluster where the High Street meets Eastcote Road and Bury Street, around Manor Farm and St Martin's Church. The county history picks out a jettied, timber-framed range at Nos. 9 to 15 High Street facing the churchyard, the former almshouses on Eastcote Road and the Old Swan opposite.
In 2009 the boundary was widened to take in the High Street and the houses to the south-west, built after the railway arrived in 1904. The leaflet says garden-suburb ideas shaped those streets: King's College held a competition for a garden suburb plan, A. and J. Soutar won it, and the plan was only partly built. Who lives in Ruislip ward
Ruislip ward had 6,223 households at the 2021 Census. 38.5% owned their home outright, the largest single group, and another 32.6% had a mortgage; 17.2% rented privately and 20.8% lived in a purpose-built block of flats.

Parking near the High Street and the Lido
Hillingdon's March 2026 scheme map marks Stop & Shop bays along the High Street and permit areas near Ruislip station, where the permit bays carry their hours on the signs. Up by the reservoir, the council has a tow-away zone on the roads in and around the Lido, operational at peak times, and towed cars go to Green Lane car park in Northwood. If you live on one of those roads, say so when you book, so the team can plan where to park legally.

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
