ExCeL London opened on the north quayside in November 2000, and the DLR station that feeds it has been running on the Beckton branch since 28 March 1994, six years before the halls it now empties into existed. The pedestrian bridge over the water was finished in 1998. The station is also the northern end of the cable car. All of that matters to an oven cleaner for one plain reason: nobody here lives in a house.
Towers and quayside blocks decide the appliance
Royal Docks West put a nineteen-storey tower of 105 studio, one, two and three-bedroom homes up at Western Gateway, and the pattern repeats along this stretch of quay. Flats of that build almost always come with one integrated oven at eye level, a ceramic or induction hob and a hood or a recirculating extractor above it. The £77 single covers the oven and takes about ninety minutes. The part people forget is overhead, because a recirculating unit has no duct to the outside and the grease has nowhere to go but back into the filter, which is why the extractor hood at £28 is usually worth adding while the kit is already out on the worktop.
Lifts, concierges and where the van goes
The racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out of your kitchen and go down to a heated tank in the van, then come back up. So the walk matters. Tell us the door the concierge prefers and whether the lift needs a fob. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are done indoors by hand with non-caustic products, which is the only sensible approach in a flat with an open-plan kitchen and no window worth opening. No call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

My hood recirculates rather than vents outside. Is that still £28?
Yes, £28 either way. On a recirculating unit the filter and the housing take the grease, so that is where the work goes.
I am moving out and the agent wants the oven done. How much notice do you need?
Less than you would think, and we work seven days, which usually covers a checkout that lands on a Saturday.
Will the smell carry through the flat?
There should be no chemical smell after. The tank work stays in the van and the indoor products are non-caustic. We heat-test the oven and sign it off before leaving.
