Every road here is an aviation name. Mollison Drive, the main estate road, is after the Scottish flier Jim Mollison; Lindbergh Road, Avro Way, Brabazon Avenue and Olley Close all point the same way, because the ground under the houses was Croydon Airport. The estate stands in south Wallington and Beddington on the eastern edge of the London Borough of Sutton.
One estate, two different building eras
Chamberlin, Powell and Bon drew the original scheme, construction started in 1965 and the first tenants moved in during August 1967, giving 1,800 homes of pre-cast concrete flats and maisonettes. From 1998 a ten-year regeneration took out around 1,000 of the mid and high-rise system-built dwellings and finished in 2010, while 674 of the original brick-built homes were kept and refurbished with pitched roofs. So an address here is either a rebuild from the 1998 to 2010 programme, with a fitted kitchen and often an integrated single oven under the counter, or a retained brick house whose kitchen has been through several hands.
The landlord changed twice
Sutton council ran the housing until 2007, when it went to Metropolitan and Hyde, and in 2015 the estate transferred solely to Metropolitan. Tenancies turn over. That is most of what fills the diary here: an oven that has to pass a check-out, with the door glass split where the design allows and the whole thing heat-tested before we leave. A double oven on Mollison Drive is £110 and takes about two hours.
How the work is actually done
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out of the oven and go into a heated dip tank in the van. Nothing caustic is used inside your kitchen. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products, which is why there is no smell in the flat afterwards, and no need for us to touch your sink or your kettle.

Yes, either way. The price is the same and it is quoted on 020 8077 5225 before we book you in.
Will it smell afterwards?
It should not. The soaking is done outside in the van and the indoor work is non-caustic.
Can you also do the hob and extractor?
Yes. A hob is £23–28 and an extractor hood is £28, added to the same visit rather than booked separately.
