The railway reached Romford in 1839. Havering's 2025 appraisal stretched the Romford conservation area south to take in the pedestrianised eastern end of South Street as far as Eastern Road and the station.

For the van, the council's charging bays on South Street run from 8.30am to 6.30pm, with a 3-hour limit and no return within 2 hours, and are free on Sundays. The Town Hall car park on Main Road has 60 spaces and a 6ft height restriction. If your block has its own car park, ask the managing agent whether a visitor bay can be booked.

Can I cancel if my moving date changes?

Yes. Cancelling is free up to 24 hours before the visit.

Is the whole job done in my flat?

Mostly. The cavity and door glass are cleaned by hand in your kitchen, and the racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. The oven is then put back together and heated, and you look inside before we leave.

What do you need from me?

A working socket, the oven switched off so it is cool, and the name of the block or street so we can plan where the van goes.

Are the technicians checked?

Yes. They are insured and DBS-checked.
