Richmond Park's vehicle gates open at 7.30am, or 7am through British Summer Time, and shut at dusk. The limit inside is 20mph. That matters more than it sounds, because a five o'clock job on the Kingston side in December means the van either gets through Richmond Gate before the gates go or drives the 6.7-mile perimeter instead, and there is no through route between Richmond Gate and Roehampton Gate at weekends at all.
Almost nobody's oven is actually in the park
Barring the lodges, the work is the ring of streets round the gates. Richmond Hill and Queen's Road up by Richmond Gate. Petersham Road and Ham Gate Avenue along the western edge. Six gates take motor traffic: Richmond, Ham, Kingston, Sheen, Roehampton, and Chohole for the golf course. We come in by whichever is nearest your kitchen, which sounds obvious and is the thing people most often get wrong giving directions.
The Georgian houses take the biggest cookers we clean
The double-fronted Georgian houses facing the park off Richmond Hill are Grade II listed, and their kitchens are usually old back rooms opened up. That is where the ranges and the AGAs live. Rangemasters at 90cm turn up constantly. A two-oven AGA less so, though often enough that the kit stays in the van.

Where does the van park on Richmond Hill?
Zone A2 covers Richmond Hill, Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 6.30pm, so it is permit, pay and display or RingGo through most of a working day. We deal with that. The free car parks at Pembroke Lodge and Sheen Gate are no use, since the van needs to be at your door for the tank runs.
Do the deer culls affect your timings?
Not the vehicle gates. Those shut at dusk regardless. The November and February culls close the pedestrian gates between 8pm and 7.30am, well after we have finished.
Will the house smell of chemicals afterwards?
No. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners soak in the heated tank out in the van, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products. The oven is heat-tested before sign-off.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
