Queenhithe has 319 residents and half a river
Queenhithe recorded 319 residents at the 2011 census, which makes it the smallest of the City's four residential wards, the other three being Portsoken, Aldersgate and Cripplegate. The dock, the mosaic and the neighbours
Queenhithe is the old Queen's Dock, named after Matilda, wife of Henry I, who was granted the duties on goods landed there. Charles II came ashore here in September 1666 to look at what the Great Fire had done. The Queenhithe Mosaic, finished in 2014, runs a 30-metre timeline along the wall.
