Pudding Mill Lane is not a residential district. It is a wedge of former light industry between the River Lea and the City Mill River, on the southern edge of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and what stands on it at the moment is temporary, the ABBA Arena among it. In 2012 the ground was where athletes warmed up.
The housing here is planned rather than built
The London Legacy Development Corporation and Vistry set up a joint venture in December 2024 to put 948 homes on the site, 45 per cent of them affordable by habitable room, with around 30,000 square metres of commercial space and a high street arranged about the DLR station. Work is expected to start in 2026, the first phase to land in 2029 and the last in 2033. So the kitchens this page is really about sit a few minutes up the road.
The ovens nearby are new-build and rented
East Village, the 2012 Athletes' Village turned into housing, holds 2,818 homes: 1,439 privately let by Get Living and 1,379 run by Triathlon Homes across social rent, shared ownership and intermediate rents. That is a great many tenancies ending. Flats of that vintage run to an integrated single oven at £77, an induction or ceramic hob, and a supplied microwave the check-out report will take an interest in, so the microwave goes on at £22 if you want it covered.

The station moved south to let Crossrail through
The original island-platform station closed on 18 April 2014 and its replacement opened ten days later on 28 April, standing on a new viaduct just to the south, because the ramp carrying the Crossrail portal up to track level at Stratford runs straight through where the old platforms used to be. The new one is the largest station on the DLR network. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out into the heated dip tank in the van; the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products.
