What we collect and why
Quote and booking details. When you call or use the quote form we take your name, phone number, postcode, the job you want priced, and anything you add in the message box (email is optional). We use these to price the job, call you back, and carry out the booking. The lawful basis is taking steps you ask for before a contract, and performing that contract once booked.
Invoicing records. Names, addresses and payment records for completed jobs are kept for our accounts. Lawful basis: legal obligation (HMRC).
Analytics. Only with your consent, we run Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful. You can refuse or withdraw at any time and the site works identically. Details are in the cookie policy.
How long we keep things
- Quote requests that do not become bookings: 12 months, then deleted.
- Booking and job records: 2 years from the last job, then deleted.
- Invoices and payment records: 6 years, as HMRC requires.
- The cookie-consent choice itself: 6 months.
Who sees your data
Our office staff and the technician doing your job. Google processes analytics data on our behalf when you have consented; that involves a transfer to the United States covered by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell or share your details for marketing, ever.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, object to our use of it, or take it elsewhere in a portable form. Where something rests on consent you can withdraw that consent whenever you like. Ring or write and we will act on it within a month.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, complain to us first and we will investigate and reply: call 020 8077 5225 or use the contact page, and we will acknowledge within a week. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
