Grand fronts, tight kitchens
The pastel stucco terraces here look grand from the street, but a lot of the kitchens behind those Regency-influenced fronts are narrow galley runs, often in a converted flat or a lower-ground extension. On the streets people picture when they think of the area, Chalcot Square, Chalcot Crescent, Fitzroy Road and the roads off Regent's Park Road, we mostly find a single integrated oven or a slim freestanding cooker squeezed into a tight space, with a hob and often an extractor to match. The grander whole houses along Elsworthy Road and Gloucester Avenue are where a wider range cooker turns up.

What we actually do
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in a heated tank in the van, which keeps the mess and the smell out of a kitchen that is usually part of the living space. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, and the door is split to clean the inner glass where the design allows. The oven is heat-tested before we sign it off. A single is about ninety minutes; a double closer to two hours.
The front is stucco and Regency; the kitchen behind it is often a galley the width of a corridor.
Parking around the village
Parking is tight and controlled. Primrose Hill sits in Camden zone CA-J, the streets are narrow, and daytime bays are permit-only, so we arrange access before we arrive. Regent's Park Road and the lanes off it fill up fast. The tank staying in the van earns its keep here, because we can take a bay a street away and carry the racks in rather than blocking a narrow terrace. The London-wide ULEZ covers NW1, and our vans meet it.

Yes. Most of the work happens at the van, so a small kitchen is no obstacle. The cavity is cleaned in place.
