Preston Road station opened on 21 May 1908 as Preston Road Halt for Uxendon and Kenton. Brent's archive history says pressure from the Lancaster Shooting Club at Uxendon, used for Olympic clay pigeon shooting in 1908, played a part in its opening. It was a request stop, and at first many trains failed to slow down enough for the driver to notice anyone waiting.
The station, the parades and the flats
The halt was rebuilt as a proper station on the other side of the road bridge in 1931 and 1932, and shops went up around it in 1931 to 1933 and again in 1936 to 1938. The postcode changes at the station: the shops and streets to the north are HA3, in Brent's Kenton ward, and those to the south are HA9, in Preston.
Right by the station the housing is denser than the semis further out. In the small census area that includes the streets by the station (Brent 006E, 697 households), 45.9% of households lived in a purpose-built block of flats in 2021 and 42.3% rented privately.
In a flat the cooker is most likely a 60cm built-in single, which takes about 90 minutes. The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately; for a flat on an upper floor, mention the floor when you call. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen, over dust sheets.

Said after the sign-off
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
