Timber-framed houses on Pinner High Street
The High Street conservation area has 26 listed buildings, some of them timber-framed and as old as the 15th century. The church, first mentioned in 1233, was largely rebuilt and reconsecrated in 1321. Not everything that looks old is: between 1927 and 1935 numbers 40 to 52 and Grange Gardens replaced old cottages at the top of the street, and several frontages, ancient and modern, were given false timbering.

Pinner's growth after the railways
The appraisal gives Pinner 761 people in 1801, 1,310 in 1851, 7,103 in 1911 and 44,392 in 1951, with the Metropolitan Railway's station opening behind the High Street in 1885. Today the ward is a mix. At the 2021 Census Pinner ward had 5,003 households: 29.1% in a detached house, 25.9% in a semi and 29.3% in a purpose-built flat, and 37.2% of households owned outright.
Off Moss Lane the houses are larger still. In the census area round Moss Lane (Harrow 016A), 52.5% of households lived in a detached house in 2021 and 53.0% owned outright. A family kitchen there may have a range cooker, which comes in more than one width:

One appliance, one fixed price, agreed on the phone before the visit: a single in a flat by the station costs the same as a single in a detached house off Moss Lane.
Parking in Pinner's zone A, and on fair day
Zone A covers the streets round the High Street, Love Lane, Bridge Street, Chapel Lane, Cecil Park, Marsh Road, Waxwell Lane and the lower end of Paines Lane among them, and it is controlled for one hour a day: 11am to noon, Monday to Friday. Most of Moss Lane (its southern end is inside) and the upper part of Paines Lane were outside it on the council's zone map in October 2026, though the plate in your street is the final word.
Pinner Fair is the exception; the same appraisal says a charter of Edward III in 1336 established the annual fair. For the 2026 fair the council's traffic order closed the High Street, Bridge Street, School Lane and Cecil Park, with parts of Marsh Road, Paines Lane and Chapel Lane, from 3pm on 26 May until 6am on 28 May, and banned waiting on more roads around them. If you live near the High Street, choose another day for the clean.
