In 1884 Emmanuel Goodhart's son sold Langley Farmhouse and 105 acres to J. L. Bucknall, who pulled the farmhouse down and in 1886 built the mansion that still stands at Langley Court.
The garden suburb east of Wickham Way
The rest of the Goodhart land became the Park Langley estate. Bromley's Local Plan describes it in two layers: an Edwardian core, which is a conservation area, and the remainder, built in stages between the 1920s and the 1950s, almost all large detached two-storey family houses on generous plots. It runs from Wickham Way in the west to Hayes Lane, with Barnfield Wood Road along the south. Some road names come from earlier owners of the Langley land, the Malmains, Style and Elwill families among them.
The 2021 Census shows how little that has changed. In the census area round Wickham Way and Elwill Way (Bromley 021C), 83.6% of the 556 households lived in a detached house, 94.2% owned their home and 48.2% owned it outright.

It is now housing: Wagtail Walk, St Martin's Lane, Whitstone Lane and Brockwell Avenue, whose postcodes Royal Mail created between 1999 and 2005. The thatched 'chapel' by South Eden Park Road, listed Grade II, was never a chapel but an early 19th-century garden building with a bell and a clock face in its cupola.
