London Oven Cleaners clean ovens in Old Malden from £77. The oven is rebuilt and heated, you inspect it lit, and anything not right is put right before we leave.
Old Malden's conservation area, designated in March 1971, holds just 56 properties on 11.2 hectares, and the council describes it in two parts: St John's, the medieval village centre beside the Hogsmill, and Plough Green, with its pond, a 15th-century pub and a group of mostly 19th-century cottages.
St John's church and the old village on Church Road
Church Road was the main settlement of Old Malden until the Edwardian years, the council's character study says. The parish church at its western end was built by Walter de Merton, who died in 1277 and founded Merton College, Oxford; the flint south and east walls of his chancel survive. The nave and tower were rebuilt in red brick in 1610, and T G Jackson added a larger nave and chancel in 1875. The Manor House next door is listed Grade II, like the church. At this end an unmade road leads to Manor Farm Cottages and the church, on the edge of the Hogsmill valley.
At the eastern end, where Church Road meets Malden Road, Plough Green keeps its pond, its green and the Plough Inn. Opposite the pond, Nos. 16 to 28, the Victorian row called Taylors Cottages, are on the borough's list of Buildings of Townscape Merit. Between the old buildings, the study notes, 1930s semis and detached houses fill the gaps along the road's original line.

The 1930s roads round Forest Side and Malden Green Avenue
Most of Old Malden was built in the 1930s. The study describes a large area of 1930s semis either side of Malden Road, planned and built at one time, with double-height bays, tile hanging and Tudor gables, and an Arts and Crafts touch on Broadmead Avenue. Plots are large. The Manor Drive, Forest Side and Broadmead Avenue have grass verges, and Malden Green Avenue and Brockenhurst Avenue have a landscaped strip down the middle. Paddock Close (1980s) and Chelsea Close (1970s and 80s) came later, on small plots.
The 2021 Census for Old Malden ward bears this out. Of 2,481 households, 47.4% lived in a semi-detached house, against 31.7% across Kingston, and 38.3% owned their home outright, ten points above the borough's 28.2%. Many 1930s semis have had the kitchen extended at some point, and a larger kitchen is the likelier place for a double or a range cooker.

Driveways and kerbs in Old Malden
Kingston's list of controlled zones and permit parking areas has no zone in Old Malden. The character study notes on-plot parking on the Forest Side roads, so a free driveway is often the nearest place for the van; Idmiston Road, which it describes as heavy with parked cars, is the exception to plan for. Restrictions can still change street by street, so check the sign at the end of your road. The racks and trays come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, while the cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are done by hand in the kitchen.
Questions about oven cleaning in Old Malden
My address says Worcester Park. Is that Old Malden?
Often, yes. Worcester Park is the post town for much of KT4, and Old Malden runs south down Malden Road past Worcester Park station to the borough boundary. The price is the same on either side of that line, and so is the method; Malden Manor, in the same ward, is priced the same too.
How long does a range cooker take?
About 2 to 3 hours for a 90cm range. A double is about 2 hours and a single about 90 minutes.
What do you need from me on the day?
The oven cool when we arrive, a working socket and somewhere close for the van. The preparing for your oven clean guide has the rest.
Can I book a Saturday or Sunday?
Yes. We work seven days, weekends cost the same as weekdays, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before.

What customers tell us
Brilliant clean, my oven looks like brand new. A 5 star clean.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
