The east window of All Saints' Church in Ockham is seven 13th-century lancets in a stepped row, and Historic England's listing says they may have come from Newark Priory.
Ockham's listed buildings
The church stands beside Ockham Park, the house built around 1638 for the Weston family and altered in 1728-9 by Nicholas Hawksmoor for the first Lord King. Most of the house burnt down in 1948; the stable block is listed Grade II* and is now flats. The village centre on Ockham Lane has been a conservation area since July 1981.
Down Ockham Lane, the Hautboy was built in 1864 by the first Earl of Lovelace, in red and brown brick, and is listed Grade II. Its addresses are now 1 to 7 The Hautboy. Other addresses in the lane's GU23 6NP postcode are mostly cottages and farmhouses by name: Smithy Cottage, Mulberry Cottage, Appstree Farmhouse and The Rectory among them.
Old Lane and the Cobham end of the parish
Ockham has two post towns. The church end uses Woking and GU23 postcodes; the east of the parish, around Old Lane, uses Cobham and KT11, so houses such as Ockham Grange and The Gardens on Old Lane carry a Cobham address while sitting in Guildford borough. The parish's postcodes all fall into one census output area, which had 178 households in the 2021 Census. More than half (55.1%) lived in a detached house, against 33.5% across Guildford, and 76.3% owned their home.

Parking in Ockham's lanes
Surrey County Council's 2026 parking review for Guildford has no proposals in Ockham. The council's own review page says it is the last Guildford review under the current system, and that requests it is still collecting will be considered later by the new West Surrey Council, whose changes come into effect on 1 April 2027. On a lane without markings the team still needs somewhere to park close to the door, so tell us where the van can stand.

Quite possibly. Several KT11 1N postcodes on Old Lane are in Ockham parish, in Guildford borough, though Oaklands on Ockham Lane (KT11 1LT) is in Elmbridge. Give us the house name when you call.
When should I turn off the AGA?
The evening before the visit. A two-oven AGA takes about half a day once it is cold.
I live at The Hautboy. Is the oven cleaned any differently?
No. The racks and trays come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the rest is cleaned by hand in your kitchen, with dust sheets down first.
Is a weekend visit dearer?
No. Weekend visits cost the weekday price.
