Grand Union Village, on the canal
The Paddington branch of the Grand Union Canal opened in 1801 across the south-east corner of the parish, and brickworks stood beside it near the junction of Kensington Road and Ruislip Road through the 19th century; the last closed during the Second World War. This century the former Taylor Woodrow site beside the water became Grand Union Village, with a marina for canal boats.
The village straddles a borough boundary. Taywood Road and Apprentice Gardens are in Ealing's Greenford Broadway ward, while Brazier Crescent and Arcon Drive are in Hillingdon's Yeading ward, and Waxlow Way has postcodes on both sides. In the census area that covers the Ealing side (LSOA Ealing 010F), 81.1% of the 821 households lived in a purpose-built block of flats in 2021. 37.8% rented privately, 28.5% from a social landlord and 9.4% were shared owners; only 23.9% owned outright or with a mortgage.

Said after the sign-off
Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
