Most of Northolt splits along the A40 Western Avenue. North of it you get the 1930s semis, where the freestanding cookers and built-in doubles turn up; south of it, along Kensington Road and Ruislip Road, you are into the 1960s and 70s social housing and the Racecourse Estate of 1951 to 1955. The estate kitchens usually run an integrated single oven, so the £77 single is the job we do most on that side of UB5. The old racecourse gates still stand in Petts Hill.
What the visit involves
We lift the racks, shelves, trays and side runners out and soak them in a heated tank in the van, then degrease the cavity, fan cover and door glass by hand indoors with non-caustic products, which is why there is no chemical smell left in the kitchen when we go. Where the door allows we split it and clean the inner glass. The oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave. A single runs about ninety minutes.
Grand Union Village and the newer flats
The Grand Union Village blocks by the Paddington Arm of the canal, built on the old Taylor Woodrow site, are nearly all single integrated ovens. Same for the newer flats near Northolt tube on the Central line. Those are the standard single oven clean. Landlords near the station book them between tenancies so the oven passes a check-out inventory.
Parking around the estates
Northolt has two controlled parking zones. The one by the station runs short weekday windows, but Zone QQ towards the town centre runs Monday to Sunday, 9am to 9pm, so weekends are controlled there too. On the wider Racecourse Estate roads parking is usually easier and we get the van close to the door. Northolt is inside the North and South Circular, so there is no call-out fee and our vans are ULEZ-compliant.

Yes. Those flats mostly run a built-in single, and that is the £77 job. We work in houses and estate flats right across UB5.
Can you reach the Grand Union Village flats by the canal?
Yes. We park on the road frontage and carry the racks and trays to the van. Give us the block name and the entrance and we plan the run first.
Will the kitchen smell of chemicals afterwards?
No. The caustic soaking stays sealed in the tank outside. Indoors we use non-caustic products by hand, so you can cook that same evening.
Do you charge extra for the estates south of the A40?
No. The price is fixed on the phone whichever Northolt street you are on.
Said after the sign-off
Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
